hello and hope everyone had a wonderful friday!
recently i did a photo shoot in collaboration with my talented photographer friend ala (from love ala), vanessa (with mint vintage rentals), prism boutique (an amazing online clothing shop about to launch, follow them on instagram here) and my hottty patottie friend courtney (who modeled her buns off!)
the photoshoot was for a series of "flower friday" posts coming up in the future. I will be featuring some great new photos from the flowers + styling divsion of this blog, willow and jade along with some DIY's.
we had a blast of a time and i cant wait to share all of the the gorg content that came from it.
after cleaning up the floral bomb madness that ensued at ala's studio, i got in a new homepage pic for this blog. i've been getting more and more comfortable in front of the camera and i felt like my original pic on this homepage, yes was definitely artsy and cool but didnt really represent the fun loving me, for 1st time viewers that don't personally know me!
the pic above was used for my launch and 1st blog post evvvaaahhhh, rememeber this! and holds such a special dear place to my heart. but like everything, something new and fresh is always good. so after cleaning up the design mess in the studio, i found myself taking handfuls of leftover hot pink and blush peonies, along with some rosemary (because it smells so delish) and made myself a flower crown.... one that i felt, was me! a little chiquita-banana-esque, but still me!
i live for flowers... everything about them, as you can see! they inspire me in a way i cant explain. they effect my design aesthetic and have the ability to make the most dingiest of spaces beautiful! and the rosemary was the extra splash of the "wannabe cook" i hope to be one day.
everything about the shoot was wonderful, specifically, the comfort i felt around these ladies. for some reason when it came time to take the pics of moi, i felt the most excited with this heavy contraption on my head and very, very little makeup. sometimes when you get glammed up, you can feel out of your comfort zone and i think its important, especially for girls, to feel absolutely comfortable and natural in your own skin. that's how i felt this day.
the backdrop is an ecclectic DIY project coming up... keep your eyes out for the live green wall of goodness! and you're going to want to look out for courtneys beautiful face in weeks to come.
heres to finding your own flower crown style! thank gosh for pinterest!
thank you to everyone who contributed to the photos... you all rock! xoveronica
